5. Games - Eduplace.com

The website that I found with games that I would use in the classroom is: http://www.eduplace.com/edugames.html
There are several different types of games - an editing game, where you can correct grammatical errors, a geography game (my favorite), spelling, and several others. I think that this would be a good website for 3rd, 4th or 5th graders. I believe it does promote meaningful learning because the students are interacting with the game and the answers don't just give you right or wrong - they give an explanation of why you're wrong, what the right answer is, and they give you more background on the question if you were right.

  1. I played several different sections of the geography game and I admit I got a little addicted. It was a lot of fun and when I got a question right it would give me information about the answer and many times it was things I did not know. This could be great in the classroom.

  2. Overall this website was an excellent tool to use in the classroom to help promote meaningful learning. The games were fun to play and were very informative. The games could be used for language arts and math concepts. I feel like the students will enjoy working on this website and still learn from the information presented.

  4. I loved this website as well. I really like that the games are actually fun and the educational aspect isnt the key component. While they prmote very meaningful learning, that doesn't overtake the entertainment aspect of the actualy game play. I also like that it doesn't just say right or wrong. That is a very beneficial characteristic and helps student further their understanding.

  5. This website will be very fun for elementary aged students. Young children love games and this is a great way to bridge the gap between fun and education.
